Great meetup guys. More than happy to walk to a meetup once in a while instead of driving to Santa Monica. Here are the gists on promises from my talk… http://j.mp/a4mkGO

Thank you Alex and the rest of the Cramster crew for a great meetup. Great presentations on a wide range of JS topics. I walked away with a couple of immediate tasks and a couple more avenues for investigation. Thanks, all.

Thanks Cramster for hosting this great meetup (and double thanks for the awesome sliders and beverages). Wish I coulda nerded it out til the end, but was glad to get in as much as I did. Looking forward to the next event. And if any of you are interested in NeighborGoods hosting a future meetup in our DownTown loft, I'd be happy to help put something together.

Sure, I can still bring it. It has 35 minutes of recording available on it. If that's not long enough, we can pause it at some point to offload the video then start it up again.

Gabriel, if it's not too late to bring it, the Flip could still be handy to record & YouTube, then the Macbook can be used for streaming.

I brought my spare Macbook w/ me, so sounds like we'll have quite a few extras. :)

Awesome, Drew! Looks like we're covered with live streaming with many options. I'll post a URL when we've got it set up.

    Alex, will wifi be available?

Sorry it was a last minute notice, but I just picked it up right now and tested it, just to find out it wouldn't work as desired :\ Should have googled it first! Sorry...

Gabrial, maybe you don't have to worry about it in that case. Thank you for trying. I'll hit up Derek to see if he can bring his macbook, otherwise I have a webcam on my laptop we can use to stream, and as a last resort, my droid!

Alex, So I just picked up the Mino HD camera for webcasting...unfortunately this bad boy can't be recognized as a webcam device. All we can do with it is record and import the video via USB once the recording is finished. On top of that, it has 2gb of storage, not sure if that's enough to store the entire meeting. Do you still want me to bring this in?

Just confirmed, Cramster is going to have The Counter cater this meetup. Beef, veggie, and turkey sliders to satisfy all but the vegans, as well as their three styles of fries. Oh yeah.

Haha, awesome news, Gabriel. I'm sure that will be perfect. Thank you for doing that.

Just completed a transaction on NeighborGoods.net and reserved a Flip HD video camera with tripod for the day of the meetup. Will this suffice?

    October 5, 2010

  • Derek G.

We can use my Macbook's iSight to stream/record, but I'm hoping someone has an actual webcam (or camcorder) that would be easier to maneuver/focus.

Anyone have video equipment so we can live stream this? We have some options but a dedicated video camera would be better quality.

Many responses requested a Node.js presentation, and Kris Kowal has offered to discuss his work on CommonJS. Also, Derek Gathright has offered to present on YQL, which looks like mashup heaven. Ryan Witt can show us Whichloadsfaster.com, and I will certainly present on code coverage examples and tools. Lastly, I and surely others can address the request for client-side error detection and logging.

    Any other requests/offers?
