For those coming on Preview Night, July 21, we'll tweetup at 5:00 pm although the doors don't officially open until 6:00 pm. I'm taking a few days off from work during the week to avoid the weekend crush of humanity. Even then, it's still crowded. The best way to get a taste of Comic Con and if you've never attended, is to attend Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. I pre-registered for Comic Con 2010 during my visit in 2009
. You'll need to pre-register in advance at Comic-Con 2010's website
. It is best to pick up your membership badges on preview night. Badges usually sell out about one month prior to event. No on-site memberships will be sold. There are disabled services on site. You'll also need to book your hotel reservations as soon as possible if you do plan to stay overnight. Most of the best places to eat are not walking distance from the Convention Center. The Gaslamp District and surrounding area is mostly a tourist trap, but there are some hidden gems. The convention center is expected to be blanketed in FREE WI-FI - please bring your laptop or WiFi-enabled device of choice. FREE WI-FI sponsor for 2009 was Google. Only 4-day pre-registered members can attend Preview Night. Full information will be made available when we get closer to the show. All event and program rooms have limited capacity as set by the Fire Marshal. Even though a badge is needed to get into all events, it does not guarantee access to any event if the venue has reached its capacity limit. Rooms are not cleared between events. If an event or program interests you, we recommend you get there early. No video or audio recording of the images on the screens is allowed at movie and television studio presentations. Each program and presentation has its own rules when it comes to what can and cannot be photographed or recorded. Please abide by those rules when they are stated. These rules also apply to recording via cell phones that contain cameras and video recorders.
