"To the Wonder" at Landmark Theatres - Fri, April 12

Join Duwayne and Movie Fanatics for "To The Wonder" at the Landmark Theatres in West LA!

TO THE WONDER boldly and lyrically explores the complexities of love in all its forms. Parisian single mother Marina (Olga Kurylenko) and Midwestern tourist Neil (Ben Affleck) fall madly in love in France and relocate to Oklahoma with Marina’s young daughter to start a life together.

As their relationship wanes and her visa nears expiration, Marina makes the acquaintance of a priest and fellow exile (Javier Bardem) who is struggling with his faith, while Neil renews a relationship with his childhood sweetheart, Jane (Rachel McAdams).

Looks like another jewel in the crown for Malick. I heard the late Roger Ebert gave it thumbs up couple with a compelling review
before his passing. Based on the trailer, Malick presumably explores the profundity and complexity of being human once again.

This seems more accessible than his last offering "Tree of Life," a mind-binding masterpiece I saw twice, with cinematography suffuse
with natural beauty. If "...Wonder" is a follow-up masterpiece, then it may deserve another look, as well. Malick is among
the few directors with a certain dexterity for making eye candy with substance.

    Thanks for this event!
