In addition to back end (white box) testing experience, this individual needs to have some coding/scripting experience (preferably with Python or Perl). They should also know sports and have some experience with front end testing. Mobile testing experience is a plus. They need to be able to understand the big picture of where projects fit into the organization as well as the minute details of testing specific features. They should have proven experience managing testing of multiple projects, vendors, and direct reports.

A successful individual will take great ownership for the quality of all mobile products and driving issues to resolution through the entire bug lifecycle. This individual needs to be extremely self-motivated and driven and be able to maneuver themselves around the organization without much guidance.


Responsibilities:
• Analyze and understand complex architectures
• Identify testing needs (hardware, tools, etc.)
• Work closely in a team with 3rd party engineering vendors
• Analyze test results and tracking overall health of the project
• Perform white box testing of feed and web services
• Test validity of XML and JSON feeds
• Perform black box testing of mobile sports applications
• Manage issues to resolution throughout their entire lifecycle
• Develop product expertise
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of JIRA defect tracking system and documenting detailed bugs in it
• Provide executive summaries and status reports
• Participating in project meetings as needed


Qualifications / Experience requirements:
• 3+ years’ experience as a software QA engineer
• UNIX/Linux experience
• Scripting experience using Pearl, Python, UNIX, etc.
Experience with Tomcat and Apache servers 
 Strong analytical skills
• Sports knowledge (NFL, NBA, etc.) a plus
• Experience with testing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms
• Experience with XCode, Eclipse, and WireShark
• Familiarity with REST frameworks
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Strong skills with software QA methodologies
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and oral command of the English language

They should also have a good understanding of most US based professional sports and their organizations (NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAA Football, etc.). They need to be able to understand the big picture of where projects fit into the organization as well as the minute details of testing specific features. They should have proven experience testing on multiple devices and platforms.

A successful individual will take great ownership for the quality of all mobile products and driving issues to resolution through the entire bug lifecycle. This individual needs to be extremely self-motivated and driven and be able to maneuver themselves around the organization without much guidance.
