Merhaba Istanbul! Dinner at Efendy Restaurant. Turkish cuisine

A trip to meyhanes of Istanbul has never been this easy! Meyhane is a traditional Turkish restaurant where you share your food, listen to classic songs, catch up with your friends and enjoy the food for hours. Efendy is going to turn into a meyhane for the next Social Dinner Club and you will sample the best of Turkish food in Balmain- not the late night kebap style. Join us for another great night!

Social Dinner Club Event

You will have a drink or two and meet other dinner club foodies before dinner. Complimentary canapés will be served between 6.6.30pm. Some icebreakers will make it faster for you to mingle.   A blogger will introduce you to the cuisine and the food culture. Chef Somer will present us the menu and will be available to talk about the meyhanes, our menu or anything else he fancies! You will get a free tea/coffee when you use Social Media during dinner. You can also win a glass of wine in our Social Media games! A gift representing the cuisine and the culture will be waiting for you as you’re ready to say good-bye. Until the next time!

PS- There is limited space in this dinner, so RSVP early if you don’t want to miss out!

PS2- Balmain is not in CBD. Yes you go over a bridge!Yet it only takes 15 mins and a cab ride from QVB costs around $15(non-peakhour). After the dinner, we can organise to share cabs to city, so easy after sharing meals :-)

PS3- Have enough cash ready to pay the bill

Set menu for Social Dinner Club $55 p.p

In true meyhane style, the food will be shared. This means you will sample more variety of mezes (Turkish version of tapas) and more bonding with the other foodies over a shared meal. Yet you will still be as full (if not more) as your previous Social Dinner Club events.

Simply superb! This was our first ever meetup, and Stephen and I were blown away by how much planning and effort had gone into this event. Leanne and Somer were informative and entertaining, and the food was exquisite - a far cry from the Turkish Cafe style of dining that we're used to. Cenk was organised, in control and a wonderful host. We met a lot of interesting, friendly new people, and learned so much about the culture, all the while satisfying my curious tastebuds. We'll definitely be signing up for the next one!

Cenk'cim, it was a wonderful evening. The food was stunning as always. The prawn was my favourite this time round. And the lamb. And the eggplant. And the kunefe. What can I say? Loved it all. It was also fascinating to hear Leanne's story and see her photos. Somer provided a terrific commentary about his country and cuisine - as always. And you! The host with the most! Also met some great people who I hope to see again at the next one. Viva la Social Dinner Club Sydney!! :)

What a fabulous evening! Thank you Cenk for creating a wonderful event, lovely people, wonderful venue, great speaker, it made the amazing food taste better!! The idea of knowing the story behind the food and meeting the owner makes the 5 senses enjoy the meal. Helps me scratch my travel itch! I was able to enjoy it with friends and make new friends too! I am really looking forward to next month :-)
