I used to own a husky-cross.
I found it very difficult to own a puppy and leave him at an expensive dog care facility that did not provide attention/training. I also encountered some issues and had a hard time trusting independent home-dog daycares. I did more research and saw that dog sitting exchanges existed in other cities and decided that it would be a great idea in Calgary. This group is meant for people to make new friends; socialization of our dogs; networking; exchange of information; and, ultimately, creating healthy relationships that enable us to have a friend watch our beloved pet(s). Unfortunately, circumstances arose and I no longer have a dog, but still have invested interest in building this group so that it becomes a bigger and stronger community.
I founded this group in July 2012 because I had a desire to build a stronger dog community in Calgary and hoped that the members would be able to benefit one another through group walks and dog sitting exchanges.
