Lots of diversity in the house. The socially-conscious attendees were very diverse racially and age-wise, as well as professional interest areas, including social entrepreneurs, businesspeople and IT folks.
I met a gentleman starting a non-profit dealing with kidney disease, which disproportionately afflicts African-Americans and thus DC.
Last but not least, participation in the event is, a great way to support a gracious restaurant, normally closed on Sundays at lunch. A great partnership. Kudos to the owners and managers of Burma, a gem in Chinatown, which wholeheartedly supports and embodies social entrepreneurship.

Very educational and interesting to make face to face contact with a variety of people in the DC community. Since there is a round of self-introductions at each event, it is much easier for participants to identify who you want to followup with. Very productive conversations over delicious food at Burma Restaurant!

This meetup was awesome. I made some great contacts and see the possibility of doing business with at least two of them. I got a lot more out of this event than plenty of others I go to. It had a pretty unique format that really worked. I also had a good meal while we all networked. This event should definitely be on your to do list for August. I know it will be on mine.

My goal is to have more than a half million in cash or investments by the end of 2014. My objective is to use my money very wisely and not to take on more than I can handle.

As a recent Ivy League graduate and new DC-metro resident with no children, how can I best meet my target customer, middle aged parents with high school aged students? Am I welcome at PTA meetings? Churches? socialimpacttutoring.weebly.com

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
