It's casual and if you can't stay the entire time, NO problem.

What drives us as creatures to connect and interact with one another online? We’ll be trying to understand what drives us to these online spaces from a psychological perspective. The presentation will be "A Species Driven to Connect" from Kris Markman, Ph.D. of the University of Memphis.

Kris is an educator and researcher interested in how people use new media in their everyday lives. A former public radio professional, Kris caught the internet bug in the mid-90s and has been studying social aspects of new media since 2001. Currently she teaches courses in communication at the University of Memphis and is conducting research on independent audio podcasters.

We look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an insightful and fascinating conversation.

Excellent speaker - very informative! The break-out session on Social Bookmarking was extremely helpful!
    •  As always it is so much great information available. I was impressed by the information that Dr. Kris Markman provided from the Pew Internet and American Life Project. Ages and how groups are using technology. Also, I’ve just been on facebook a couple of months, but I see how Social Media and learning new technology can really impact your business. The breakout session "Facebook for Businesses" was awesome. I look forward to attending these meetings monthly. I think I am on my way to becoming an "Technology Omnivore".
    •  This is a great colaborative meeting where we make great business contacts and also learn and share from each other. I enjoy the platform and it is not too long or to short. I look forward to these meetings every month. :)
    •  Well..I said I wanted to learn something new and I did! Anxious to learn even more about 'Yahoo Pipes' (thanks Karen)! Great food, great chats.
    •  Some interesting information was presented and good contacts.
