Thanksgiving Weekend Hike! (O'Neill Park)

Okay, time to burn off the pumpkin pie we all had on Thanksgiving!! Beginners welcome, but this is an intermediate hike that will be a 5.5 mile hike up the Live Oak trail to Vista trail then back via Hoffman Homestead trail. The trail has lots of trees, only moderate hills, and we’ll take a few short breaks along the way.
This hike should take us about 2.5 hours or so. Please remember to wear appropriate hiking shoes, bring snacks to keep your energy up, and water! Bad weather will cancel this event, so be sure to check for a possible cancellation email before you leave that morning.

Meeting spot: We’ll be parking at the Corner Bakery parking lot (parking is free) on El Toro road right off the 5 freeway. We’ll then carpool to O’Neill Park to make it easy for people if you’ve never been there. The park is 15-20 minutes up El Toro/Live Oak Canyon road. And please plan to be there and ready to go at 9:30am.

Morning hike kinda brutal, 2gether in single file,
Every peak, challenges the weak, pain in semi-denial,
Hot beating sun, where's the fun, feels almost futile.

Early to wake, no way to flake, be there for goodness sake.
Only for skin to bake, feet soon aches, later found a snake.

Start @O'Neill, keep it real, on your heels
What's the deal? Wimp out I almost feel...

Felt a little sick, last hill I couldn't lick,
Butt got quite kicked, still 2gether we must stick.

Kinda rough, keep it tough, everyone had enough?
Seriously though, way to huff-&-puff the good stuff!

Shady paths finally found, cools group's sweat down,
Smiles change fr.frowns, lunch awaits back in town.

Thus, we're all convince, trusty not rusty organizer Vince
Lead us well, happiness swells, rest of T-Day wknd since! =D

Well the car situation is straightened out now, but obviously too late to make the hike. So sorry I can't join you -- I assume you're having a great time out there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
