Can I please ask that you join our Facebook and Twitter page for the Dance Party and Fundraiser for Japan?

Twitter: @JapanDanceParty

Come join us (and 300 other meetup friends) to mingle, dance, and have fun for a charity dance party for the people of Japan! We have a great program planned for you, which includes mingle time, a raffle, a solo acoustic set, comedians, and dancing to the live music of Take One Band. We will take over both the swank Ultra Lounge and the main restaurant area so there will be plenty of room. This will be one of the biggest and best meetups ever, so please sign up soon as there will be limited availability given the amount of meetup groups attending.

8:00 P.M. Mingle and socialize

9:00 P.M. Solo acoustic rock artist Shel Van Taylor

9:30 P.M. Comedians

9:30 P.M. Raffle starts and goes throughout the evening

10:00 P.M. Dance to the music of the Take One Band. Their lineup is so fun, mixed, and full of energy that you'll never have a dull moment!

There will be a suggested donation of $10.00 cash at the door, with other opportunities to give more throughout the night, including buying raffle tickets. All proceeds will go to Peace Winds America to help restore the lives of the Japanese people.

You have a chance to make a difference in this world and have fun at the same time. Months after the Japan earthquake disaster more than 145,000 people are still living in shelters, and the government added five communities to a list of places people should leave to avoid long-term radiation exposure. The disaster is believed to have killed more than 25,000 people, but many of those bodies were swept out to sea and more than half of those feared dead are still listed as missing. Many in Japan's elderly and less fortunate population lost their livelihood during the triple disaster of the March 11 earthquake, tsunami, and the following nuclear contamination. Often these people are too proud to accept donations, making it even harder for them to restore their lives to normality.

We have chosen to work with Peace Winds America to raise funds for the people of Japan. Peace Winds America is a small and very effective organization where we know the contributions really end up with the people that need them. This is possible because Peace Winds works closely and directly with the local communities where the relief is mostly needed. If you cannot make this event and would like to still donate, you can donate directly to Peace Winds America.

Thanks so much for helping to make a difference!

This event is cross-posted with many other meetups.
