Introduction
Uptown 4 life! My family's been in the Heights since the end of the Depression. I've been here long enough to remember when folks ran from the area (80's Crack Wars, anyone?); I plan to hang around long enough to have the last laugh, & then some...
What kinds of activities would you like the Upper Manhattan Experience to host?
A quality comedy show! I've hosted a kickass comedy/variety show for 8 years; I'd kill for the chance to do it uptown. Get me a venue & enough lead time, I'll hook it up. If you think folks'll come out, I'd consider securing a venue, too (the Kilt?).
Where is your favorite place to hang out north of 125th street?
Coogan's: B'way, bet 168-169 Sts. Dan is the man, without a doubt, and Piper's Kilt rocks, but Coogan's is home-- great spot/karaoke/people, and I can WALK there. Of course, now that I've met you guys, I guess I'll have to do some more traveling...
What neighborhood do you live in?
Washington Heights, near Columbia Presbyterian.
How did you hear about The Upper Manhattan Experience?
Came out to support Karaoke Dan one Sunday. Saw him rock the boardwalk @ Coney all summer '07, asked if he worked anywhere else; nearly fell out when he said the Kilt, of all places. There I ran into someone I knew, she invited me, and... here I am!
Additional Information
"I'm a performer/writer. I love walking, movies (all kinds), and enjoy most anything that facilitates good or silly conversation. If it be done over a beverage, all the better. Oh- and if I go too long without playing some b-ball, I get the DT's."
