SandyCon@230 Fifth - Hurricane Benefit For Kids of Breezy Point: Free Admission!

Twas the night before Santacon, what do you think

Head to 230 Fifth & have us a drink?

Hello Everyone:

The Holiday season is upon us and it's time to announce our 8th Annual Holiday Party!

It will take place on Santacon Eve & keeping with the holiday spirit, $1.00 from every drink sold will be donated to the Point Breeze Fire Department to buy presents for kids from Breezy Point NY whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy!

In addition, there will be an area where those who bring new, unwrapped toys for the hurricane victims can donate them.

The Holidays will be difficult this year for kids who lost everything and while many neighborhoods were devastated, Breezy Point was particularly hard hit with 110 homes burned to the ground. It is a community that many fire fighters call home, so here's our chance to help the families of those who put their lives on the line every day to help keep us safe!

THE DATE:

Friday, December 14th from 6-11PM

THE LOCATION:

230 Fifth, (230 Fifth Ave. between 26th & 27th Streets)

The plight of Breezy Point was captured on the cover of today's Daily News: http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/hr.asp?fpvname=ny_dn&ref_pge=lst

I spent this afternoon in Breezy Point, NY with the brave individuals of the Point Breeze Fire Department. Chief Marty Ingram gave Ruth Fremson of "The New York Times" and I a tour of the fire house and showed us the destruction that Hurricane Sandy inflicted on this close knit community. He also captivated us with a vivid recollection of what went on that night. Below are some pics I took that hopefully capture both the devastation and the hope left in it's wake.

Andy, my family's home on Lincoln Walk is a 1/2 block from the Point Breeze Fire Department. I received your announcement above via email. Do you know how I can post it to my own FB page? I would also like to post it on Breezy's FB page. The pictures speak for themselves. I look forward to the event on Friday.

Remember that 230 FIFTH has two levels! The fully enclosed Penthouse Lounge is one level below the roof and has windows that offer a full panoramic view of Manhattan. A picture is in the invitation above. Should you choose to visit the roof, it's fully heated and robes are provided. For recent pics of both levels check out our Election Night party @ 230 FIFTH:
