This is the anticipated follow-up event to our Feb. 2008 event of the same name (which was formerly titled "How to *do* social media / new media")
Note: there is dinner & other food available, so feel free to bring your appetites.
Join us as we get together to discuss what works, and what doesn't, with social networking, web 2.0, groups, social traffic, microblogging (incl. Twitter & Plurk), blogging, and other aspects. Bring your questions, your experiences, and your answers.
Some free materials & guides related to this event & the prior version have been posted for the meetup.
Since many people may be first-timers, here's the scoop on how meetups typically work:
- People generally show up around the start time, but since it's informal it's fine to be late.
- It helps if you bring business cards, and people are also able to put their contact info on a followup list (an email goes out to everyone with some notes and websites discussed).
- You get to join in, or listen, and participate in the discussion.
- You can discuss your current passions, websites, & projects.
- Lots of interesting ideas flow around.
- We'll probably pick a stopping point for the group discussion, because conversations continue for 30 minutes or so in smaller groups.
- Topics for future meetup events also can come from suggestions and questions that need more exploration.
