Hey guys- So Paul, Kady and I were talking the other day and when you live and work in a town like DC as long as we have, one thing becomes very apparent;

It'll never matter how much you know or what qualifications you have. Because someone who knows more people and has more connections with less qualifications, can pass you at any moment and leaving you at your position for another 3 more years.

Would you like to:

  • Find alternative ways to conduct a job search rather than attend job fairs
  • Use Linkedin as a knowledge sharing tool. Get the answers you need to know about your industry or reach a certain contact.
  • Learn to be more pro-active and productive in online networking
  • Learn how to increase your reach to a wider net of contacts
  • Learn how to optimize and enhance search visibility so people can reach you

You're in luck. This evening, Dean (that's me) will be giving be giving a hands-on workshop on how you can manage your professional career with Linkedin and build your personal brand online. Using my own proprietary framework, I will talk about how to master the 3 crucial aspects to the platform; Presence Management, Relationship Management, and Job Hunting. Join me and learn why your education and current experience are already a commodity and why "social currency" is more important than ever.

This is a "Learning by Doing" workshop meaning it is interactive you will be given a list of things to do "in-class" to accelerate your learning. No boring Powerpoint presentations for 2 hours! As such, the event is limited to a manageable level.

Each attendee will also receive tip-sheets that cover:

  • Best Practices in how to optimize your online profiles
  • Dos and Don'ts when using Linkedin

    I will have bottled water for attendees if you need it. My friend Rick will come in and talk about the "hidden job market" and why more than 80% of the really good jobs are never advertised. This is a total eye opener for me. See you there.

    Yes, you're welcome to bring your laptop and learn along the way. Not a must in anyway but if you want to bring it, you can do so.

    The presenters mentioned one tactic is to help someone first, and this short video explains how "reciprocity" works - "Robert Cialdini on the importance of reciprocity" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkyGOAWoYxA

    This was probably the most gratifying event for me. I'm glad to have contributed to your future success. Remember about the 3 types of people out there. Avoid the last two. And be the first one. Make it happen
