This is a singles group unlike any group you have ever experienced! S.O.C.I.A.L. is a singles group that is focused on providing cultural activities for a diverse group of mature professionals. It aims to provide cultural events to bring together single professional people of color in their local area. All ethnicities are welcome to join S.O.C.I.A.L. however most events and activities will have a cultural focus. The main focus of this group is to provide a diverse network of professional singles in their local area. Members can expect to enjoy such social outings as dining, wine tasting, speed-dating, fundraisers, community service, ski-outings, cruises, and more!. S.O.C.I.A.L. is the premier singles group to join!

As a member of S.O.C.I.A.L. you can expect to benefit from the following:

1. Invitations to many of the fun filled events that S.O.C.I.A.L. has to offer.
2. The ability to interact with other single professionals of color that live in your area.
3. A group that is selective in choosing members. We want to make sure that you have a great selection in looking for a date or your mate at S.O.C.I.A.L.! We therefore take pride in making sure that each person is personally approved by the meet-up organizer.
4. A monthly networking mixer at a rotating location in your area.


Membership Criteria

1. Must be single as in not married.
2. Must be between the ages of 26 – 45. (Some exceptions may apply).
3. Must be a professional. Please refer to this definition of professional for more info. http://en.wikipedia.o...
4. A profile picture must be in your meet-up request for membership.


Being a member of S.O.C.I.A.L. definitely has its fringe benefits!

1. You will be able to meet and network with a diverse group of people in your local area. You will no longer be forced to drive to the city to have a social life! You can now use your gas money for something else!
2. You won’t have to attend the same boring and uptight networking events to mingle with other professional singles. We promise to provide unique events that will always be fun as long as you are open minded! We at S.O.C.I.A.L. live up to our name. You can expect to come to an event and do just that – Socialize! We have a great group of people so this should be easy to do!
3. S.O.C.I.A.L. will always have a wide selection of unique events for you to attend. If you can’t attend one just check the calendar. There are definitely plenty more to attend.



What does S.O.C.I.A.L. require of its members?


Membership Fees

There are three levels of membership standard, non-profit, or business.

Standard

1. Membership in S.O.C.I.A.L. is currently free. However this is a newly formed group and if future funding is needed, members may be required to pay annual membership fees of $36 a year. All members will be informed before this takes place and will receive ample notice to make a decision on continuing membership before the fees are due.

In the meanwhile, donations will be requested at all events. You can pay online or at the event. Please give freely so we don’t have to charge!

Non-Profit

1. Non-profit businesses (organizations or associations) are considered to be standard members and but are required to pay a fee of $36 per year. All fees must be paid within 48 hours of membership approval.

2. Members who are affiliated with a non-profit can promote their function on the message board and have it added to the calendar for free as long as this is reciprocated within their group. That means the following:

a. Before promoting your message you must submit a contact name of the head of membership in your group to the organizers to promote S.O.C.I.A.L.
b. You must take the responsibility of recruiting members to S.O.C.I.A.L. from your organization and provide documentation that this was done. For example an email to all the members in your organization will need to be forwarded to the organizers of S.O.C.I.A.L.
c. If the above are not done and you post on the message board anyway you will be required to either pay a $5 fee or your posting will be removed immediately.
d. You can not post functions for your group that take place on the same night as an official meet-up.
e. All postings must be sent to the organizer first for approval.
f. You can not email members directly about your organization. If this is done you will receive (1) warning and if done a second time your membership will be revoked.

Business

1. A business membership means that you have a vested financial interest in the firm that you are trying to promote. If you are a business owner, employed with a firm and trying to recruit applicants, or trying to promote any business or engage in acts of solicitation, you are consider a business member.
2. Business Membership Fees are $95 per year for (1) posting on the message board or $190 (2) for two postings. This is the maximum listing or message board postings.
3. Any postings that have not paid will receive (1) initial warning and your message will be deleted immediately. The second time you will lose your membership all together.
4. No emails are allowed to members at all from the meetup site regarding your business.Any emails sent will result in immediate group dismissal.
5. Business members can only attend events if they are single and standard members as well. No soliciting of their business is allowed at events unless otherwise noted. Only business cards are allowed to be distributed. Singles events are social events where networking can take place however soliciting i.e. passing out flyers, passing out a sign up sheets, etc. is not allowed. The only vehicles that you can use to promote your business is the website and business cards unless otherwise informed.
6. Membership Fees must be paid within 48 hours of membership approval.




Membership Participation

S.O.C.I.A.L. asks that as a member you participate in events. Try to attend as many as you can. Membership is currently free so this is a great deal! You are able to interact with all singles in a social setting. This is a great way to date strangers in a no pressure environment. Activity is required. Please refer to requirements below:

1. If you have not attended an event within one 6 month period you will be deemed inactive. Your membership will be removed. You will however be able to join again when you have more time to participate. If you have a special circumstance you must discuss this with the organizer.
2. If you have not logged onto the meet-up page within a 1 month period you will be deemed inactive. Your membership will be removed. You will be able to join again when you are able to become more involved.
3. All members who are deemed inactive for non-participation will be required to pay a $10 rejoining fee.

S.O.C.I.A.L. wants active members! If you can’t be active at this time in your life, just join when you can! We want all of our members to benefit from the group and you cannot benefit if you don’t come to the activities!



Membership Event Payments

S.O.C.I.A.L. requires all events that require payment to be pre-paid. No payments are accepted at the door. We must have a count of all attendees at all times. There may however be exceptions to this rule. This will be documented in each meet-up posting. Members must therefore register via PayPal, or mail payments to the below address:
