Sock Knitting

  • January 20, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Just like posted on The Crafts Club meetup page, this meeting is for anyone who likes to knit. Or crochet, or any other crafts. Come and join us!

If you particularly like to make socks, then even better. I just love sock projects! They are wonderfully portable and there are so very many intriguing and lovely patterns to try out. They also make great gifts. See you there!

I looked at the dates for 2014 and decided on a different evening than a Thursday (like last year). I will need to confirm this because Tuesdays don't seem to be great days either.

I haven't been to the W Cafe in Waterstone's but I checked it out the other night. The W Cafe takes up quite a small area in the basement next to where Costa Coffee used to be. We might have to squeeze in - I'll try to be there for a bit before 6pm. If the cafe is very crowded we may have to go elsewhere. Let me know if you want me to text you in that case!  I will add a comment to the site during the evening via my mobile phone if we do move (to possibly Costa's).

Looking forward to seeing you!

What a nice venue! I didnt' think it would be as cosy as it was. The cakes were amazing. They do a lovely rosemary and caramel shortbread, and I had a very yummy apple cake. Some very relaxing knitting was being done too.
    Lovely evening!

I had Lola's email so will text her if we go to Costa's.
If anyone else wants me to text them in case of change of location, please email me your number.

Fingers crossed that the venue is okay. See you there!

Hi Giselle, really sorry but I've still got plenty of work to be getting on with :( How about doing a meet up at a weekend at some point? I normally work from 10-6pm during the week.

Hi Ankinha, that's a great idea. I will keep the monthly sock knitting meetings to a weekday evening but the occasional additional meeting on a weekend is a brilliant idea.
We have met up for yarn shopping (at Nest north of Finsbury Park) before on a Satuday where we were given cake and tea and sat knitting after our shopping, and we have done picnics in Regents Park when the weather is nice enough too. We could do something like that again. Or perhaps an outing to a beer garden? Does anyone know of a good place?
All sugesstions for any kinds of venues will be warmly received! See you soon

A lovely, relaxed evening over amazing shortbread and cakes (rosemary shortbread with caramel, very yummy!). I loved the space: it is calm and relaxing, cosy and inviting. I am rather hoping that not too many people will rediscover this place so we can meet here again!
Looking forward to the next meeting at the Nero in Warren Street (opposite the tube station).
Thanks for coming along yesterday, and see you again next time!

If anyone wants to see how the invisible cast on works (for toes, ie toe-up socks), I'll be doing that at group tomorrow.

We have some people from the Crafts Group joining too so it might be a bit of a squeeze. If the place is too crowded we may have to move to Costa's on the corner to St James' church on Piccadilly. If you want me to text you, email me your number.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
