I think like an atheist, but I believe in God. The problem is religion. My beliefs can be described as Seldonism, which I define as a variant of my Hindu faith influenced by the science fiction of Isaac Asimov.
The meaning and purpose of life is to make a difference in the world before we leave it forever. Heaven is leaving behind positive memories of our time on this planet. Hell would be being remembered for making things worse.
I am a 40-year-old graduate of MIT who moved to the Baltimore area at the beginning of 2011. I work for The MITRE Corporation. My interest in philosophy ranges from Hindu Vedanta to Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Aquinas, Popper, and Political Philosophy.
