Regular Monthly Meeting

  • Apr 28, 2013 · 2:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This year we will be attempting something new

At precisely 2:30 PM we will watch a DVD best selling author Timothy Keller on "The Reason for God; Conversations on Faith and Life" which is a video that was filmed live in which Timothy Keller talks to six people about their doubts and objections to Christianity.  Using literature, philosophy, real-life experiences, and the Bible.  Keller and the group explore the truth claims of Christianity.

The question for this month is "

"What Gives Christians the Right to Tell Me How to Live My Life?"

We will discuss the video for 30 minutes and then have our open topic discussion beginning at 3:30.

Sorry to have missed the meetup-I forgot to set a reminder in my calendar (I can't do anything without reminders). I'll get it right next time!

Interesting discussion on the place of moral rules over our lives and on if a person should have a legal right to end their own lives. A thoughtful discussion.

Thank you Chuck, but I do not believe that any of us are qualified to answer such question and expect to be correct. You are welcome to suggest this topic to the group yourself, I would love to hear your point of view on the subject.

Since the group gets to choose the topic that's discussed, Eugene, perhaps you will want to offer "What is Heaven like?" as a suggestion for the topic of the day.

Why does the definition of heaven as perfection seem so boring and flawed to creative people like me? Seems more like a prison then a gift.

I reserve the right to leave if people will defend the right to preach.
