That's fair game too. Suggested reading: Aristotle's Nicomachian Ethics, Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation, Rousseau's Discourse on Inequality, Ayn Rand's The Voice of Reason, and Gottleib's The Dream of Reason. That's a pretty broad range of points of view.
