Regular Meeting - Every Second Sunday of the month

This month we will meet at Zephyr Cafe.

Our topic this month will be the relationship between personal happiness and cultural norms.  Is there a relationship between the two?  Are they ever in contradiction with one another?  If they are how can one decide what to do?  Please join us to discuss how these two relate to one another.

Is there a universal component to happiness independent of cultural norms?

An excellent question! We should discuss that on Sunday!

This seems to be a continuation of last month's great topic which I unfortunately missed. Was happiness and/or "culural norms" defined last month?

Actually last month's topic was the connection between reason and happiness. I don't think that we reached a total consensus about what reason was last time (do we ever?) but we did chew on the issue for a while.

I can help lead a talk depending on the topic, I am not sure what kind of philosophy you usually like to talk about, but I am more specialized in different social philosophy fields. Let me know if your interested. Can also try to mention it to other Philosophy majors and graduates from CSUN as well.

Why don't you come to a meeting first and see how we do things.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
