“ A good meetup; but I may suggest we create a 'tiny time' to say hello or call it socialise during the meetup, or I guess soon the number of attendance will be declining. ”

“ I really like the group and the concept, Roy is very friendly and welcoming. I congratulate you all on such as great idea for a meetup, it is very well organised Again I know it must be difficult to balance process over outcome but I always feed the process is equally as important as the outcomes in fact I believe process is way more important ”

“ A very cool way to meet new people and have interesting & stimulating conversations. I would recommend leaving pre-conceptions at home if you can and open your mind to new & old ideas using the ancient method of open conversation on an agreed topic. Look forward to the next conversation. ”

“ First time there but it won't be my last. Enjoyed hearing the various takes on the subject and the various age, nationality and professional backgrounds added to the diversitiy of opinion. A general overview of each group's concesus would have been interesting at the end of the night. As a group discussion it was very well structured and facilitated and my thanks to the organisors. ”

“ Very much needed meeting group, focused on an open and informal yet well co-ordinated and structured discussion about some Very Important Questions. ”
— Seb on Jul 7, 2011.
“ Think the Socrates Cafe Dublin is a very good idea, with good discussion, both formal and informal, of topical issues in our contemporary world. I enjoyed the company of those members present, and was interested to listen attentively to what they had to say, and how they discussed the issues presenting. The method proposed is a good way to improve one's communication skills, and with practice, could prove very beneficial to good dialogue generally. I believe these Meet-Ups are based upon a book published in recent years, by the same title: The Socrates Cafe. The organisation of the group was very orderly and efficient, and business like. Good ground was covered by the organisers, who were a good example of the method proposed. Clarification questioning seems to be the core method here, until such time as ambiguity no longer exists as to what the proposer is actually saying, or modifies their proposition to state something other than originally. Good for improving active listening. ”
