Hi guys, I'd have loved to attend this meetup but sadly it clashes with a date elsewhere I had made before. Hope to see you all another time

Gosh - another heated debate will ensue it seems. I think Karina's point is very valid - the question is about the morality of pornography and whether it is a moral issue? not about gender! I'm all for tackling "taboo" subjects in a civil environment - thankfully no "thought police" to contend with at these gatherings and as always it is up to each individual to decide for themselves their level of engagement/or not in the discussion. Look forward to another interesting evening.

Hello everyone. As one of the co-founders allow me to remind everyone that Socrates Cafe exists to be 'a space where ideas and dialogue can flourish'. This means that this space will welcome all worldviews to a common table where imaginative sympathy and creative attention is given and received by all on the topics for discussion. Beginning the conversation before we sit across the table from one another is probably not the best tactic for such flourishing to take place. I recommend we wait until Tuesday evening to exchange our communication and thus enhance understanding of our views. This group has done well in its demonstration of engaging with these values intact in the past and will do us well to continue. Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

"A space where ideas can flourish" like TED Talks "Ideas worth spreading" except for the three talks that were approved and made BUT then banned for some unknown reason....http://www.highexiste...

I'll call in to this after class if that's okay? I'm extremely interested in this topic and am looking forward to hearing what the synopsis from each group is. See you Tuesday. Happy philosophizing :)

Are people as willing to admit to almost taboos like homosexuality as they are to contributing to an industry of hetero sex. If not, why not????

Hi Jean, I think gay people have no taboos among themselves. This is very important because among heterosexuals is the opposite. Heterosexuality remains the big taboo, believe or not. And we need to address this topics urgently to grow up together and enjoy a healthy life. Have a good day!

That's exactly what I mean Jose....many heterosexuals are still abusive to even the idea of homosexual men....lesbians on the other hand..they enjoy watching because they aren't in an akward position. I'm sure you all now that kids are calling each other gay in school these days....when I was in school, I didn't even know what gay was. The dealing of the issue is not being handled properly and I have serious doubts about how the issue of pornography will be handled here also...

I'm praying to my agnostic god that I don't have to cancel for this one – from the comments below, it looks like it'll inspire some passionate discussion.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
