Madison Area Software Developers Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

  • Sep 18, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come and share your experiences as a software developer in the Madison area. We have self-employed, contractors, work-from-home, entrepreneurs, code monkeys, web monkeys, java monkeys, database monkeys, pixel monkeys, you name it. Looking for a job? We have people looking for programmers too.

Things we've discussed are previous meetings:
* the latest web technologies
* scripting languages such as Ruby and Python
* compiled languages such as Java, C#, and C++
* source control
* testing/debugging/QA
* working from home
* working in a cube farm
* corporate politics
* iPhone programming and "the Apple effect"
* beer

Etc. Ever interesting, never boring, something for everyone.

    I haven't been to one of these, so I'm unfamiliar with the format. Is it rude to show up a little bit late? I have a veterinary appointment for my dog at 5 today in Fitchburg, so if it lasts longer than half an hour it's likely I won't be able to make it by 6.

      Sorry, I meant if my dog's vet appointment lasts longer than half an hour I won't make it by 6. I better phrasing of what I'm asking is: if I show up at 6:30, would that be disruptive to what goes on at these meetings?

      Not all. Lots of people show up later.

    Hi all, I need a Java expert to teach a course this Fall at the Madison Media Institute in our Mobile Applications Development Program. Anyone interested or could you recommend someone? We need someone ASAP and the commitment will be about 4 hours a week pretty much at your discretion. Contact me at[masked]-2880. Please spread this around.

    Minimum requirements: 2 year degree and 4 years experience.
