Madison Area Software Developers Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

  • July 16, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come and share your experiences as a software developer in the Madison area. We have self-employed, contractors, work-from-home, entrepreneurs, code monkeys, web monkeys, java monkeys, database monkeys, pixel monkeys, you name it. Looking for a job? We have people looking for programmers too.

Things we've discussed are previous meetings:
* the latest web technologies
* scripting languages such as Ruby and Python
* compiled languages such as Java, C#, and C++
* source control
* testing/debugging/QA
* working from home
* working in a cube farm
* corporate politics
* iPhone programming and "the Apple effect"
* beer

Etc. Ever interesting, never boring, something for everyone.

    Just built a "Hello World" C++ project for my Raspberry Pi. Cross compiled and ran it from Eclipse in a remote debug session. Have ordered an expansion board with inputs and outputs...

    I'll try to get there early (around 5:15) to snag us a good table.

    This will be my first event attending with this group. How do people typically find you guys at the event?

      Hi Christopher. It's usually easier since we're in a big room at the Essen Haus. For today, look for a sign on a table near the back of the beer garden (furthest from the main gate).

    In response to the venue issue...
    I am indifferent really, but that sounds like a great idea to do the Middleton location for this time. :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
