. You can either buy into their hosted solution (saas) or purchase it and install it on your own server. I used basecamp but switched to Jira because it was easy to bend it to your projects planning strategy.

What are you guys using for project management?
I know BaseCamp is supposedly the bees' knees but quite expensive and ActiveCollab, the previously "free" alternative to it is now much less free. Are there any other solutions, possibly open-source, that provide the necessary tools for basic project management? I use MantisBT for bug/task management but I'm looking for tools that can help with online collaboration on documents and "who's doing what" project management. Something I can install locally preferred.
