Process and Quality Improvement Initiative – Where do you Start?

Abstract: More and more companies today are realizing that they need to make improvements to their overall process and practices. However, they often don't know where to start or how to implement a process improvement initiative. This talk will go through a Process Improvement Initiative case study based on real world experiences at several companies. It covers not only testing improvements but full SDLC process improvement as well.

Bio: Megan Sumrell is the Quality Architect for Mosaic ATM. In this role, she is establishing new quality practices for the organization including but not limited to project management, project planning and tracking, and testing. She is a Certified Scrum Practitioner with over 14 years of software testing experience. She has worked as a developer, quality engineer, Director of QA, QA Architect, Product Owner, Scrum Master and Agile Coach and Consultant. She has built QA organizations at several software companies including CommerceOne, ChannelAdvisor. . She also served as the Director of Transformation Services at Valtech where she not only coached teams transitioning to Agile but also developed and taught several Agile/Lean courses including Agile Testing, Product Owner, and Pragmatic Scrum Master classes. She specializes in process improvement and agile testing and has worked with several teams to help them transition from waterfall to agile practices.

    Interesting. Of course, sometimes I think Megan could talk about eating a bowl of cereal and make it interesting ;-0

    I'm not in a position to where I would be one to manage such an effort, but it was still nice for me to kind of switch places in my head to a different point of view.
