This is a moderate hike of about 9 total miles and 1500' of elevation gain. Starting at 5,500' we follow the Clover Creek drainage to an abandoned trail and proceed for lunch at an overlook of Harriette Lake, the gem of the Mountain Lakes Wilderness. The overlook is at about 7,000' and the hike usually provides the last opportunity to see wild flowers. After lunch we travel the regular trail in a loop returning via Clover Lake. The trail head is about a 45 min. drive from Ashland; expect to be back late afternoon.
PLEASE NOTE: The maximum group size in the Mountain Lakes Wilderness is 10. As we have in the past, we'll split our party into smaller groups so as not to exceed the maximum while still keeping each other in sight.
Please be on time.
Well behaved dogs welcome.
