Looking for the scoop on what Election Day results mean? Join SoJusters for Cocktails for Justice at Mantra* the day after. Ever wondered how to work a room at a cocktail party? Then join us from 6-7pm for a special skillshare called "The Art of the Schmooze". Robbie Samuels, SoJust's Co-Organizer will cover the tools you'll need, how to set goals, how to initiate a conversation and perhaps most important - how to exit gracefully. You'll be able to put your new skills into practice right away when Cocktails for Justice - with no speaker or program - begins at 7pm. Don't drink? That's fine. Plenty of folks don't. The emphasis here is less on the cocktails and more on the socializing. And even more so on the justice. Join us if you want to cross-promote your events and campaigns while enjoying great cocktails, are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in, or you've been looking for like-minded progressives to hang with in Boston. Newcomers always welcomed! Hey organizers! If you're involved with a group or project and want to spread the word bring flyers for the free lit table - and there'll be lots of opportunity to schmooze and network. * Located near Park Street T stop (Green & Red Line) and Downtown Crossing (Orange Line). The entrance is a little tricky to spot - look for the big 52. Check out their menu at www.mantrarestaurant "What actually happens at events?" Wanna know more about SoJust? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions and Event Photos. Cost: $2.00 |

Join Socializing for Justice for our very first discussion group: "The Body" for Justice. POV: Healthcare* on Monday, October 19th at Sweetwater Cafe (downstairs) in Downtown Boston. To connect to "the work" and each other in more intentional ways, SoJust is hosting monthly discussion groups focused on "The Body" through various points of view (POV). This is a place for us to explore what we have in common and where we differ on topics that are important to us. This is not a seminar - there will be no presentation - come with questions you'd like to explore. We'll creatively use the space: smaller groups to focus on specific topics, pairing up, etc. Join us to learn more about yourself and other SoJusters! So you know what to expect here's what we have planned: "The Body" for Justice Discussions will be every 3rd Monday at Sweetwater Cafe. Possible future POV: body image, race, feminism, gender, dating, war, abortion, safer sex, veganism and... your suggestion. Want to cross-promote your events and campaigns? Looking for like-minded progressives to hang out with in Boston? Are you new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in? Are you psyched about building strong cross-issue coalitions? Join us! *Sweetwater Cafe is located at 3 Boylston Street. T Directions: Take the Green Line to the Boylston Street Stop. Take a right onto Boylston Street and walk 1/2 a block. They are located in the alley on the lefthand side, across from Boston Commons. Nearest Orange Line stop is Chinatown. Unfortunately this venue is not wheelchair accessible. YES, WE MEAN YOU. We've got members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of activism and professions. We hope you see someone like yourself and meet someone you otherwise wouldn't have. HEY ORGANIZERS! If you're involved with a group or project and want to spread the word bring flyers for the free lit table - and there'll be lots of opportunity to schmooze and network! At Socializing for Justice (SoJust) events you can hang out with friends, make new ones, find a date, get the scoop on a job, and find out what's going on this weekend - political or social. And the best part is that SoJust members share your vision of building a more just world. Wanna know more about SoJust? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions and past event photos! Cost: $2.00 |

THIS IS RAIN OR SHINE We're meeting at a restaurant so we'll sort out once we're all there whether to brave the weather or not - but SoJust is about more than the activity - it's about the people you get to meet. So I'm sure there'll be great people and some will want to run around in the rain learning about the North End. Join SoJust for Scavenger Hunt for Justice* on Saturday, October 3rd. The search is on with a fun-filled list of historic, cultural and quirky items to locate (and photograph) in one of Boston's most famous neighborhoods - the North End. Meet at Four Winds Bar & Grill at 2pm - which is also where we'll end up for dinner at 5pm. No need to create a team - we'll randomly assign folks the day of the event - since getting to know new people is what SoJusters are all about. Instructions and the item list will be given out the day of the event at 2pm. There will be prizes for creativity and quantity so be sure to join us for dinner at Four Winds! Want to cross-promote your events and campaigns? Looking for like-minded progressives to hang out with in Boston? Are you new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in? Are you psyched about building strong cross-issue coalitions? Join us! YES, WE MEAN YOU. We've got members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of activism and professions. Want to get out of the city? We're headed back to Quechee State Park in White River Junction, Vermont from August 14th to 16th. Head up Friday morning or 9-5 working folks can carpool up as soon as you punch out. This is a special SoJust event that we are doing to gear up for our 3-year anniversary. If you've found yourself not wanting SoJust events to end and more time to get to know the cool people you've met through SoJust, this is your chance! Several tentsites have been rented (we need exact numbers so be sure to RSVP!) where you can drive your car up and unload your tent. There are fire pits, indoor toilets, quarter-fed hot showers, picnic tables, dogs allowed ("on-leash" Quechee State Park is about 3 miles off of highway 89, and also near 91. Googlemaps tells us it's 2 hours and 20 minutes from downtown Boston. We started a new Camping for Justice Thread to plan transportation, sleeping arrangements, dietary restrictions - check for updates! RSVP deadline is set for August 7th - this is to ensure we have enough time to arrange carpools and plan the campsites. Your payment should be sent at the time of your "yes" RSVP to reserve your space. Payment includes camping for two nights and meals throughout the weekend. Check out the new Camping for Justice Thread to see the great meals we have planned! It's just $40 per person for all this fun! Thanks! Cost: $40.00 |

Recess for Justice is going down at the Stony Brook court right off Lamartine Street in JP. (Exit Stony Brook T station on the Orange line, walk directly across the street to the park - we'll be on the field and in the courts right in front of you.) We can't wait for sunny days of summer! Like this: http://lh4.google.co Bring your favorite outdoor game or check out the assortment of fun we'll have on hand: Frisbees, kickball & chalk (for 4-square!), basketball, softball (bring a glove) and whatever other randomness we can think of. If it's hot we can run through the fountain sprinkler to cool off. Around 3pm we'll start to figure out what to do next. We'll likely go to Ula Cafe for coffee, smoothies, snacks and board games (bring 'em!). Check out the photos from previous Recess for Justice events in 08 and 09 http://photos3.meetu So look no further if you want to cross-promote your events and campaigns while perfecting your Frisbee forehand, you're seeking like-minded progressives to hang out with in Boston, or are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in.
