Ever wondered how to work a room at a cocktail party? Then join us from 6-7pm for a special skillshare called "The Art of the Schmooze". Robbie Samuels, SoJust's Co-Organizer will cover the tools you'll need, how to set goals, how to initiate a conversation and perhaps most important - how to exit gracefully. You'll be able to put your new skills into practice right away when Cocktails for Justice - with no speaker or program - begins at 7pm.

Don't drink? That's fine. Plenty of folks don't. The emphasis here is less on the cocktails and more on the socializing. And even more so on the justice.

Join us if you want to cross-promote your events and campaigns while enjoying great cocktails, are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in, or you've been looking for like-minded progressives to hang with in Boston. Newcomers always welcomed!

We hear you. That's why at SoJust events, in addition to traditional name tags, we have "Ask Me About" and "Looking For" tags. That way you can slap whatever you're into lately up on your shirt and wait for fellow SoJusters to approach you. These seem to do the trick of moving past the basic "what do you do for work? where do you live?" questions to conversations that lead to more substantial connections.

"What actually happens at events?"
You'll always be greeted by friendly folks who can help get you socializing, introduce you to people, and chat with you about questions or wishes. It's likely a few people will be there promoting their campaigns and issues (yes, SoJust welcomes that sort of behavior). At our bigger events, there's always a literature table to toss down flyers, postcards, and other paraphenalia about events around town. Most importantly, we can pretty much guarantee there will be someone there you've never met before. As one of our members said, "You are bringing together people who might never get together otherwise - if that ain't a step towards justice I don't know what is."

THIS IS RAIN OR SHINE

We're meeting at a restaurant so we'll sort out once we're all there whether to brave the weather or not - but SoJust is about more than the activity - it's about the people you get to meet. So I'm sure there'll be great people and some will want to run around in the rain learning about the North End.

Join SoJust for Scavenger Hunt for Justice* on Saturday, October 3rd. The search is on with a fun-filled list of historic, cultural and quirky items to locate (and photograph) in one of Boston's most famous neighborhoods - the North End. Meet at Four Winds Bar & Grill at 2pm - which is also where we'll end up for dinner at 5pm.

No need to create a team - we'll randomly assign folks the day of the event - since getting to know new people is what SoJusters are all about. Instructions and the item list will be given out the day of the event at 2pm. There will be prizes for creativity and quantity so be sure to join us for dinner at Four Winds!

Another one of those "I've been meaning to do that!" events...

Join SoJust for Salsa Cruise for Justice and get in one more fiesta before August is over!

A full night of fun kicks off at 6:30pm at "The Landing" at Long Wharf where you can meet up with other SoJusters and enjoy a Signature Fish Bowl Cocktail. The lesson starts at 7pm - and the cruise departs at 8:30. On board there's a cash bar, dinner (buy tickets in advance) and DJs on 2 levels. The cruise returns to dock around 11pm and then there's an optional after-party at Mojito's Lounge** in downtown Boston. Cruise attendees get in for free. Whew! That IS a full night.

It's a crowded cruise so be sure to RSVP and we'll look for you at "The Landing" before the lesson. Newcomers always welcomed!

Purchase tickets on-line ($20 +$2 for optional lesson +$10 for optional dinner) - definitely sign up for the lesson! Best to buy in advance, but tickets are also available at the dock for $25 (+2 for lesson).

Recess for Justice is going down at the Stony Brook court right off Lamartine Street in JP. (Exit Stony Brook T station on the Orange line, walk directly across the street to the park - we'll be on the field and in the courts right in front of you.)

Bring your favorite outdoor game or check out the assortment of fun we'll have on hand: Frisbees, kickball & chalk (for 4-square!), basketball, softball (bring a glove) and whatever other randomness we can think of.

If it's hot we can run through the fountain sprinkler to cool off.

Around 3pm we'll start to figure out what to do next. We'll likely go to Ula Cafe for coffee, smoothies, snacks and board games (bring 'em!).
