Beach for Justice

  • July 20, 2013 · 11:00 AM
  • Carson Beach

Looking to meet like-minded progressives while working on your tan? Well, bring your sunscreen - we'll be soaking up the sun for justice! Check out photos from past (1211, 09 & 08) Beach for Justice events!

We'll be there from 11am-1pm so stop by anytime. We'll be the gaggle of folks having fun in front of the first parking lot! Plan ahead and bring snacks to share or get something at the snack bar. This is definitely a family-friendly event - dogs are welcome too! (They have to stay on the boardwalk.)

Never been to Carson Beach? Check out all the amenities!

DIRECTIONS: Take the Red Line to JFK/UMass. Exit the station to your right. Take the second exit of the rotary (or go straight through) and walk towards the beach. * Public Parking: Free public parking is available. * Bus: Take MBTA Route 5, 8, 11, 16, or 41.

SOCIALIZING FOR JUSTICE - www.sojust.org
SoJust is all about building a cross-issue progressive community, network and movement in Boston. We're doing it by putting the SOCIAL back in SOCIAL JUSTICE. We focus on creating welcoming spaces that foster relationship-building across issue silos.

SoJust isn't a non-profit 501(c)(3) and receives no outside funding. We're a grassroots volunteer-run member-supported cross-issue progressive community that's been growing steadily since August 2006. We have 2300 members, we have hosted 160 events and we manage an online hub of progressive events and resources at www.sojust.org. If you've benefited from this cross-issue progressive network please contribute the suggested annual membership fee of $25. You may do this online or at any of our events. Thank you for helping us continue to provide a space for like-minded progressives of all stripes.

I had a fabulous time and enjoyed talking to everyone and the water was awesome in that heat. I found it way better than just sitting in the sand.

Hot!! But the weather is out of the control of the organizers. It was a pleasant little gathering.

Where exactly will we meet? Does someone have a cell phone number they can give in case I can't find the group?

Hy Lynn. We'll be sort of between the first parking lot and the boardwalk. We'll have a "SoJust" lawn sign to help you spot us. If you message me privately, I'll give you my cell number. But we'll be pretty easy to spot-- mostly because we'll be on the lookout for people who appear to be looking for us. :) See you there!
