I'm a vegan astronomer who cares deeply about social justice. I'm originally from Michigan but moved to the Boston area after spending six years in Wisconsin.

The issues I care most deeply about are feminism, racial justice, LGBT rights, poverty, anti-war, access to health are and education, and animal rights. So...I guess this means I feel strongly about social justice in general.

    Hello :-) I'd like to host an event that I think would be very interesting! I think New Wave should go see the film Pariah at Kendall together and then meet at Tommy Doyle's afterwards and discuss! The film is about a black teen and her struggles with her family as she realizes she is a butch lesbian. I think it would be a great chance to discuss feminist issues that relate to this film! I was thinking we should see it on Sun Jan 15 for the 4pm showing! What do you think??

I did't mean to cramp your style, but I saw the hollaback! street harassment meetup sitting there for awhile without a date/time and locale so I thought I would take some initiative and take this one on--I'd like you to come, but I'll prepare the discussion and role playing ideas for the group so you can just sit back and relax :-)
