I am an advocacy and media trainer, consultant, speaker and writer published in local and national venues. My recent book on effective advocacy is "Make Your Voice Matter With Lawmakers: No Experience Necessary." www.makeyourvoicematter.com.
(Your "introduction" will be visible on the homepage.) Use this space to provide links or more info: What social justice issues do you care deeply about? Do you work with any organizations or specific communities? What do you do for FUN? Thanks!
I am a part-time advocacy consultant to the Concord/Action area Advocacy Network to End Family Homelessness. I also chair the Diversity Advisory Committee to the Superintendent of Schools in Arlington, MA. My primary social justice interests are poverty, immigrant issues, diversity and children's well-being. The daughter of refugees from Nazi Germany, I feel a special connection and commitment to eliminating hardship and inequality. I also write essays about personal issues and op-eds about social justice issues. I love hanging out with friends, sightseeing and reading.
How did you hear about Socializing for Justice? Please be specific so we know which websites, listserves or people to thank.
Heard about Socializing for Justice from Jessica Critcher.
Socializing for Justice (SoJust) is all about building a cross-cultural, cross-issue progressive community, network and movement in Boston based on the Philosophy of Abundance. We're doing it by putting the SOCIAL back in SOCIAL JUSTICE. We host events twice a month to meet each other and make connections. No Program. No Speaker. Just Us. Newcomers always welcomed!
**You must be a member to RSVP or post an event on the message board. Not a member?
It's free to join - share as much or as little as you'd like about your connection to social justice.
We may seem like just another liberal social group but get involved to find outwhat we can create together!
Join us if you want to CROSS-PROMOTE your events and campaigns, are NEW TO THE AREA and looking for groups to get involved in, or you've been looking for LIKE-MINDED PROGRESSIVES to hang with in Boston. Join us if you are ready to go BEYOND ALLIES and build a CROSS-ISSUE PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT.
YES, WE MEAN YOU. We've got members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of activism, and professions - born in Boston to just moved here. We hope you see someone like yourself and meet someone you otherwise wouldn't have.
Want to know about PROGRESSIVE EVENTS in Boston? We CROSS-POST events we hear about on the SoJust CALENDAR - see what's going on this week.
