Hi! I would love to meet others in the Boston area who are also interested and/or involved in world-wide social justice issues. Look forward to saying hi!
(Your "introduction" will be visible on the homepage.) Use this space to provide links or more info: What social justice issues do you care deeply about? Do you work with any organizations or specific communities? What do you do for FUN? Thanks!
I don't have one particular issue that I'm really driven to throw myself into, but I do try to stay up to date on world policy issues, as well as children's (esp orphans') rights/needs. I go to the library once a week to pick up new stuff to peruse, love improv, trivia and french fries. I currently work for an international company and love the exposure I receive every day with the ESL community.
How did you hear about Socializing for Justice? Please be specific so we know which websites, listserves or people to thank.
I Googled something like "social justice organizations Boston" and this came up pretty low on the page, but I think it was still the first page.
Socializing for Justice (SoJust) is all about building a cross-cultural, cross-issue progressive community, network and movement in Boston based on the Philosophy of Abundance. We're doing it by putting the SOCIAL back in SOCIAL JUSTICE. We host events twice a month to meet each other and make connections. No Program. No Speaker. Just Us. Newcomers always welcomed!
**You must be a member to RSVP or post an event on the message board. Not a member?
It's free to join - share as much or as little as you'd like about your connection to social justice.
We may seem like just another liberal social group but get involved to find outwhat we can create together!
Join us if you want to CROSS-PROMOTE your events and campaigns, are NEW TO THE AREA and looking for groups to get involved in, or you've been looking for LIKE-MINDED PROGRESSIVES to hang with in Boston. Join us if you are ready to go BEYOND ALLIES and build a CROSS-ISSUE PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT.
YES, WE MEAN YOU. We've got members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of activism, and professions - born in Boston to just moved here. We hope you see someone like yourself and meet someone you otherwise wouldn't have.
Want to know about PROGRESSIVE EVENTS in Boston? We CROSS-POST events we hear about on the SoJust CALENDAR - see what's going on this week.
