Hello, I'm Mela and I'm the host and organizer of Solo Travel Tales. Welcome to our site. I hope you will join us for one of our travel-cultural-history meetings or events. We share tips, info and lots of stories regarding independent travel and have general fun while doing so.
Come to the lovely Hotel Marriott for one of our meetings, and relax at the comfortable wine/coffee bar. There you will find other travelers in our meetings who travel independently and/or solo.
Our meetings are filled with travel tales and tips; sharing information, resources, photos, and the wonderful and the often sometimes bizarre travel tales that always seem to accompany trips. Our attendees are 'real' travelers and are eager to listen and share.
At our meetings we:
- Learn about independent or solo travel.
- Tell travel tales and hear others tell theirs
- Find partners for short or long trips (for example; Santa Barbara, a local museum or even a trip to Bali, etc.).
- Learn about new travel destinations from people with firsthand experience.
- Receive travel tips.
- Do you love to take photos of your trip? This is a place to show your slide shows and share your photos with people who are truly interested. Contact Mela, your Meetup Organizer, to plan to show your pictures or slideshow at an upcoming meeting. (Slideshows fromf all parts of the world are welcome and appreciated, including road trips around the good ‘ol USA).
Next to going on a trip, talking about our travel adventures is almost as much fun. Come commune with fellow travelers!
We also set up groups to attend events around town that travel, culture, and history related.
Disclaimer:
Any travel taken as a result of meeting people on this website or through our meetups is the responsibility of those people only. This meetup or it's organizer, does not sponsor travel or take a monetary compensation in any way.
So, that being out of the way, let's talk travel on 2nd Sunday of every month!
