The 65th Edinburgh Festival Fringe will take place from 5th to 29th August 2011, and will once again thrill the thousands of spectators who gather in Edinburgh's famous cobbled streets and historic venues.
The Edinburgh fringe festival is the largest arts festival on Earth, and one of several Edinburgh festivals taking place in Scotland’s capital each August. In 2009, the Fringe was made up of a record-breaking 2,098 different shows giving a total of 34,265 performances in 265 venues.
From big names to street performances, this Edinburgh festival has everything from theatre to children's shows, exhibitions to comedy and musicals and much more. Throughout summer, the Edinburgh festivals take over the city's historic Royal Mile and arthouse venues, with groundbreaking performances and showcase events.
The Fringe Festival has been a launch pad for the careers of big stars, including Eddie Izzard, Jude Law, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Billy Connolly and many more.
