Hike - Early Years on this Land: Historical tour of the top of the mountain

Sunday, Oct. 27: Early Years on this Land: Historical tour of the top of the mountain: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Hear and see points of interest related to the man who purchased most of the land for the Park Commission, some of the first pieces of land purchased, and the pit mines dug by Maplewoodians in the early 1800s. A walk of about one and a half miles at an easy pace. Meet at Bramhall Terrace (the lookout over NYC), located 0.3 miles in from S. Orange Ave. on Crest Drive. Crest Drive is near the top of the park’s eastern ridge, running south from S. Orange Ave. If you follow the signs to the dog park, you will come to it long before the dog park. Leader: Dave Hogenauer,[masked]-0824.

I was at a Breast Cancer fundraiser in the morning and I wasn't able to leave until 3:00pm. Sorry, I really wanted to join the hike.
