Clean up the reservation III

RESERVATION TRAIL CLEANUP: Chain saws and strong backs welcome!
Saturday, Nov. 24th. 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
South Mountain Reservation, Oakdale Picnic Area, Cherry Lane, just south of Northfield Avenue
Conservancy members and numerous community volunteers have cleared about half the trees toppled by Megastorm Sandy across the Reservation's nearly 50 miles of trails and 42 regeneration sites. The County does not do this except in dangerous situations (they clear the roads and permanently fix site fencing). Help open up the rest of the trails before it gets too cold! Volunteers over 15 years of age with loppers, bow saws, and especially chain saws are urged to come out: We have work gloves and water. Bring a friend.

Hope to see some of you out there. So far we have had two of these and about 40 people have turned out to help clean up the mess left us by Sandy. The chainsaw crew has been fantastic, but in this area covering the Oakdale and Lenape trails are atleast 20 areas with tree knockdowns blocking the trail.
