Help Clear Last of Trails, Saturday, Dec. 15;
We are not done; the aftermath of Sandy is still with us. After six weeks of exceptional work by stalwart volunteers and our expanding Chain Saw Gang, we have cleared trees from about 45 out of 50 miles of trail. Yet, there are still some bothersome spots that we need to address before the winter snows set in. This weekend will still be relatively warm. We don't know of any other park that has had the such an outpouring of help and we thank you.
To clear our final trails, volunteers over 15 years of age with loppers, bow saws, and especially chain saws are urged to come out:
Saturday, Dec. 15, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Meet at the Oakdale Parking Lot, off Cherry Lane a quarter mile south of Northfield Avenue. (Call Jay Leslie at[masked], if there are questions.)
