SANDY ANDINA

Sandy Andina is a veteran of the Chicago folk scene, with detours along the way into rock & roll, comedy, politics and motherhood -- all of which inform her incisive original songs, serious & funny. As a solo artist, Sandy plays acoustic guitar and mountain dulcimer, but in collaboration doubles on bass guitar, harmonica and baritone ukelele.  Her duo Andina & Rich have three albums out (the majority of which songs are her originals) and one on the way: 2006’s “Because We Can” on Travenia, the title track of which was a Dr. Demento favorite, 2010’s “Two Guitars, a Dulcimer and an Attitude” on DulciYodel — listed in 7 categories on the 2010 Grammy ballot and all 14 cuts of which have gotten airplay--and their just-released holiday EP "Merry Humbug" and about-to-be-released (Jan. 2015) album "Chasing Lightning." Sandy is currently working on her second solo disc “Candy Apple Red Herring,” the long-awaited followup to her debut "Ghosts & Angels." Her former duo SASS! also released "SASS! Album One."  She plays clubs, concerts and festivals all over Chicagoland, the rest of the Midwest, and occasionally Mid-Atlantic, mid-South, West and far West—as well as the Chicago Bar Association’s annual “Christmas Spirits” satirical musical revue. You may have heard her on Dr. Demento, WFMT's "Midnight Special," WDCB's "Folk Festival," NPR's syndicated "River City Folk" and on broadcast, satellite and internet radio worldwide. Sandy's had two indie artists cover her songs on record, several in performance and several more preparing to record covers; and won Honorable Mention (top 5% of entrants) in the national Chick Singer Night songwriting contest.  She's also a two-time JustPlainFolks Music Awards winner. She's Songsalive.com's current Songwriter of the Year, preparing to turn over her crown to the next winner in December. Check Sandy out at her website: www.sandyandina.com as well as on ReverbNation, Facebook, Broadjam and Twitter. You can find her music for sale and for play on CDBaby.com as well as iTunes and numerous other download and streaming sites.

I am a seasoned musician. I play jazz guitar and I would be a great backup for singers who are interested in performing intimately with their audience. I'm just saying!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
