Songsalive! Chicago Songwriters Workshop

Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the songwriting communities we have created around the world. The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop, where writers present one song each - either on tape, CD or live, followed by a guest speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and network. Moderated by Mary Lemanski. This month during the second half we will be working through Songwriting Exercises.  Learn new techniques and practice your songwriting skills in a group setting with other songwriters.

Songsalive! Chicago hosted a workshop at the Beat Kitchen on April 14th. Two people shared a song, and everyone gave encouragement and helpful advice on how to make the songs better. In the second half, we discussed several songwriting topics, including how to market your music and website effectively on the Internet. We're looking forward to the next workshop on May 12th when songwriter/composer/producer, Danny Kravitz, shares his experience and discusses, "Professional Songwriting."
