Have you ever been interested in designing and building your own home or space? At this next Soul Seminars we will be welcoming Peter Cowman, architect and eco builder, to talk on the subject of dreaming, devising and making your own living space. Bound to be a thought provoking night with plenty of interesting discussions! This event will take place in Dunderry Park, Navan, Co. Meath
About the Talk
Peter Cowman invites us on a journey to the heart of sheltermaking, exploring how we might create buildings that nourish our souls. Along the way we find the familiar and the new juxtaposed in a dizzy mix of the visible and invisible. We meet Carl Jung, discover Vastu Shastra, Fung Shui, Sacred Geometry and varied sheltermaking traditions that freely offer up their secrets. As we ascend this path we can calmly observe hazards that litter our way. Under Peter's skilful direction we imagine these overcome by the treasures lurking within our hearts - love, passion, creativity, humility, daring, consciousness.
The stage thus set, we can freely articulate our dreams and discover in the process who we are, where we are going and how we plan on getting there. This glimpse into the garden of promise encourages our longing for wholeness, nourishing the hope that we might at last arrive at a place where we can be our selves. Encouraging us forward with gentleness, firmness, wit, quirky insight and the scent of liberation, Peter holds potential chaos at bay while offering clear instruction on how we might best manage the forces of reason which caution us to desist in this quest for truth and liberation.
With our feet once again firmly on the ground we are encouraged to realise our dreams within the perspective of the here and now and to draw around these a robust fabric to ward off the mundane. In this way we shape our architecture out of the invisible, sheltering the delicacy of our souls beneath a humble cloak within which the realising, the reappraising, the relinquishing, the rebirthing begins.
Provocative. Inspiring. Poetic. Entertaining. Practical.
Not for the fainthearted.
