This is a great idea.  I had an idea for something along these lines about a year ago, but never saw it through.

Wow.  The website is very powerful. As someone who has only had a digital camera for a year, I too find that shooting with others is of course, great for new ideas, new perspectives.  I like the book study, but would love somehow to have more hands-on-the camera time and/or a group critique time.  I personally would like a mentor..Lou?? :-)
Is there a way to weave this into our monthly discussion group?

Very interesting Lou.  I would be open for this but not sure how committed or engaged others would be to this in the group.  Also, what direction would our content take.  Were you thinking fine art, political, environmental, human interest or just for fun photography. I really like the idea and we should talk more about this.  I would say let's get a core of at least 4 other like minded photographers and see what we can come up with.  I think a brainstorming meeting would be in order.

I am glad you saw this piece "The Perks of Collaboration." I was thinking about how we could make our groups more effective, creative and collaborative, of course my own lack of attendance to the NJ group causes some disconnect. Yet people don't seem to use the tool to communicate what they are up too, shows, exhibition, tools etc.
