CicLAvia is coming up!

Mary C.
Lawndale, CA
Hello Cruisers!

CicLAvia is just 9 DAYS AWAY on April 15th! For those of you who have never been, CIcLAvia is a special City of LA event where many miles of major streets in and around Downtown Los Angeles will be closed to motor vehicle traffic and FREE FOR PLAY to cyclists, skaters & pedestrians! It is from 10am to 3pm. This event is organized & hosted by CicLAvia and several organizations including LA Metro, LA Bicycle Coalition & more. For maps & event information please visit their site at: http://www.ciclavia.o...

This time around John and I will not be hosting a Southbay Cruisers ride along the route. John is going to be working on filming his own CicLAvia video and I will be assisting him. But we still encourage everyone who has that day free to go and check it out! You don't even have to bike it - the event is open to any non-motor form of transportation! Roller blades, skate boards, pedestrians all welcome! Check out the Photos section of our Meetup site to see pictures from past CicLAvia rides.

This is a unique opportunity to explore LA. Brick & Mortar shops and restaurants will be open as usual. There will be street vendors, food trucks, special entertainment locations, photo opportunities, music, bicycle repair stations, other local bicycle groups & more.

From the Southbay you can catch the Metro Green Line, transfer to the Blue Line North and exit at San Pedro Station to start riding/skating/walking at the African American Firefighter's Museum OR you can take the Blue Line and transfer to the Red Line North/West and exit at Vermont & Beverly Station to start near the Bicycle District Hub.

I hope many of you will make time to check it out!

Safe riding everyone!

Mary C., assistant organizer
