Board Games at Carrow's in Santa Clara

Join us for our Thursday night board games gathering; the regular members always bring a variety of games ranging from the simple to the complex. You bring your appetite, a good sense of humor, and any additional games you'd like to play (If you don't have any, that's also okay because there will still be plenty to choose from). We usually have 2 or 3 groups going at once with individual games lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. We can usually satisfy a variety of tastes from the beginner who isn't familiar at all with the games but is willing and eager to learn to the more experienced gamer who has played a variety of Euro-games. It's easiest to get into a game if you arrive by 7PM.

Please order at least $10 worth of food of the menu and tip well since Carrow's doesn't charge us for using their space.

Talked to Walter last night. He's going to drop by Coco's and see if they'll have us.

I thought by now lots of us would be posting their thoughts on what we hope for/don't hope for in our next venue. I posted my 2 cents at our Yahoo Group: . [We've been on Yahoo since 2005 and Meetup since 2008...the Yahoo group is Meetha's. I don't think at this point anyone could say that one group or the other is the "REAL" internet location for our group of people who eat dinner and play board games together...I know lots are only on Yahoo and lots are only on Meetup.

I chose to post on Yahoo because of the importance of emphasizing that these dinner meetings are and always have been totally OPEN to the public, with no RSVP required and no membership in either internet group required. Although good luck keeping track of us if you don't join or at least know someone in one group or the other...we've changed day of the week, location of the restaurant, or time of evening at least 8 times in those 8 years!]

I thought Carrows came pre-trashed. I'm really not going to miss the sound of the buzzing transformer, the strange denizens of the neighboring Motel 6, the guy that sits at the end of the counter (every night, not just Thursdays), or the random meals that are not quite totally unlike what I ordered.

I will raise my glass to toast our next venue!
