Game Focus Night: Eclipse

Game Focus Night

We choose a "main game" to be the focus for the evening.  Of course, you can play other games, too...but if we all plan for one particular game...and take some time to outlay the rules, etc...and show up ready to play...we can enjoy one of the "longer" games that are sometimes hard to commit to in the Extravaganza format.  We start a little later, we end a little earlier...bringing snacks and such are optional, but encouraged.  The essence of the evening is to relax and enjoy good company, good gaming, and good ambiance.

So....Let's Go!

The Main Game is:  Eclipse

I've played it once.  Vu has a Copy.  All Set to Go!

This is a Space-Themed Game that includes such diverse game elements as:
-  Economic Development
-  Exploration
-  Area Control
-  Multiple Advancement Tracks (Miltary/Science/Colonization)

You can check out an overview of the game here:
http://boardgamegeek.com

...feel free to read-up on the rules ahead of time, but we will review the rules before we start playing (Let's aim to start the game no later than 8PM!)

RSVP
If more people attend than can fit in to the "main game", you are welcome to play other games...bring what you like or make use of one of the games that I have.  I'll limit the Yes-RSVPs based on how many can play the main game....but if you are on the waiting list, feel free to attend anyway, but bring a plan to play another game.

Cost
If you are bringing a snack or a beverage to share or if you have already paid the Yearly $20 group fee, then the $5 cost of attending this event is Waived...$0 for you :-)

Ok, I'm on my way. Depending on traffic, I may be a bit late.

Who else from the waiting-list is attending? Smrf? anyone?

Hey Vu...what do you think is the ideal player-count for Eclipse? 4? 5? 6? more?

    • PikaVu

4-5 would be ideal. 6 players w/ learning would definitely make it a 6hr game.

BGG says it's best with 4 or 6 players ... And yes, it can be a long game.

No problem on the date change - Nov 19th works better for me anyways. See you Monday and looking forward to learning Eclipse!

Because of my Holiday Travel Plans, I doubt that I will be home on Nov 26th....so, let's play sooner!! I like the idea of breaking in Vu's Eclipse. For Carin: We'll make a Agricola "Future Farmer" night very soon!
