Hey karaoke addicts! How about another combination play + karaoke event?
Face it folks, the Play's the thing and all the world's a Stage, baby. So, come join us for an evening at the theater followed by karaoke at O'Flaherty's.
First the Play: Our member, Tony Le, will be performing in A Christmas Carol, a presentation by the local theater group, The Northside Theater Company in San Jose. This is the Dickens classic that you've seen memorialized in all sorts of movies and TV shows. Now is your chance to see it performed LIVE with Dickens' wonderful words. The play will be presented at the Northside Theater on William Street and 18th Street in downtown San Jose, not far from SJSU. Tickets are $20.00 plus a $2.00 processing fee of you order online. You can order tickets online here:
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND BUYING TICKETS IN ADVANCE AND GETTING THE WILL CALL OPTION (where you pick up your tickets at the box office window.) We will meet out front at 2:30 pm. (Show starts at 3:00 p.m.) Ticket sales have been brisk, so I recommend that you DO NOT wait until the last minute.
Then the Music: After the play is over, we'll head over to O'Flaherty's for some great karaoke brought to you by Avent's Empty Band. O'Flaherty's is located on San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose. Parking can get hectic in downtown San Jose, so plan your trip accordingly. There is a parking garage right across the street. This location is also close to major VTA bus lines and just a few blocks from the Light Rail station at 1st and Santa Clara Streets for those who want to go green in more ways than one. My advice is to get there early because space can be limited. Karaoke starts at 9:00 p.m. but we'll be meeting at 8:30 p.m. to save spaces and sign up early. Avent's Empty Band does the karaoke show here, so you know it will be a class act. You can save even more time by picking your songs in advance from Avent's website: www.karaokeman.com.
Hope to see you there!
