Have you ever wondered what it feels like to fly upside down? Learning aerobatics can enhance the safety of everyday flight because the pilot better understands the airplane’s flight envelope in everyday situations and because the pilot is better prepared to handle emergency upsets.
Vicky Benzing will share her experience of flying aerobatics. Beginning with a short video of aerobatic flying from inside and outside of the cockpit, Vicky will cover getting started flying aerobatics, the FARs governing aerobatic flight, where to get aerobatic training, how to advance your skills in aerobatics through competition aerobatics, and where the local aerobatic practice areas are located.
Vicky will also be available to answer any and all questions about aerobatics including how to fly everything from crazy tumbling maneuvers to perfectly true vertical up and down lines.
About the speaker:
Vicky Benzing is one of our outstanding local aerobatic pilots. Born and raised in the local area, Vicky is an accomplished pilot, skydiver, aerobatic competitor, and Reno racer. With more than 6000 hours of flight time and more than 1100 parachute jumps, Vicky holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating as well as commercial ratings in helicopters and seaplanes. Now a professional airshow pilot with a surface level waiver, Vicky spends much of her time performing for audiences up and down the West Coast.
In addition to her flying accomplishments Vicky holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UC Berkeley and has enjoyed a successful career in the Silicon Valley high tech industry.
