Join us for the monthly gathering of the South County Airport Pilots Association. We start with a social hour at 5 PM, dinner ($15) at 6, and a membership meeting at 7 that will include this presentation:
SCAPA Disaster Airlift Response Plan
The SCAPA Board of Directors commissioned member Rod Pharis to develop a plan for pilots at E16 to provide rapid response emergency airlift relief for natural disasters including earthquakes, forest fires and floods.
At this meeting, Rod will present the draft plan for information, feedback and enlistment of support through volunteer sign-ups.
The plan envisions an organizational structure and procedures that enable volunteer pilots to transport supplies or personnel to/from other General Aviation airports in Santa Clara County and adjacent areas.
All SCAPA members and anyone interested in joining are encouraged to attend to learn about this initiative and contribute ideas to the planning process.
