SCAPA Treasurer Mark van Wyk recently ran an analysis of SCAPA's finances and noted that after a period of surpluses, the club cash flow has gone negative in the last year, dropping $937 from $4740 on July 31, 2012 to $3803 on July 31 2013. He says that the chief differences are 20 fewer paid members at $600 reduction (81 paid family dues as of 2013 Aug 13), higher costs on dinners (they are purchased from restaurants this year compared with purchased from grocery stores and barbecued in previous years), and slightly higher costs on the summer BBQ and Christmas party. We're considering various courses of action to stop the cash outflow. We would appreciate receiving and will consider club members' thoughts on the issue. Please select one or more of the following and/or send a message to or call Paul Marshall (firstname.lastname@example.org, 408 776 6560) with your thoughts.
