Creative Pulse - Networking for the Creative Economy (Take 2)!

Hi All,

The Pulse is gaining momentum!!! As many of you are aware, we had a bit of a shock last month when our first venue closed at the last minute. But, with hardship comes new opportunities...WE WILL BE MEETING AT THE AMATURO THEATRE LOBBY AREA ON THE UPPER LOBBY.

I don't know if I can put into words how excited I am about our new venue for our Creative Pulse event. I met yesterday with the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and they have graciously agreed to host our Creative Pulse networking event in the New River Room every fourth Wednesday of the month moving forward. What does this mean for SFAA and the local creative industries? The opportunities are endless. What a great thing to put on your biography...you were featured at the Creative Pulse event at the Center for Performing Arts! :-)

First, the room will have a stage for performances. We plan to have a featured performer monthly, in addition to also hosting a selected number of visual artists to display their work for the evening. There is also the possibility of moving the event out to the courtyard when weather permits. The success of this program depends on all of you. I don't think I can impress enough the need to have our members come out to support each other in this endeavor. A lot of you ask what you can do to help and get involved...this is it. Show up.

Rarely does a venue as important as the Performing Arts Center provide an opportunity such as this to local arts communities. Let's develop Creative Pulse into something that brings the arts and businesses together in one place.

Please be sure to RSVP on the site, and I'll see you there. There is no fee to attend, and there will be a cash bar.

We need your ideas to grow this event, this is a group effort to promote the local arts. Please be ready to meet new people, and be sure to bring any promotional materials (postcards, business cards, cd's of your music). We will have a separate table set up for information.

I will continue to say it....opportunities will happen, but you have GOT to show up!!!

See you at Creative Pulse, and please pass the word. This is open to everyone, with the intention to promote the creative fields.

Looking forward to the event Charlotte! Looks like we both have some great things happening at BCPA, first with the monthly Songwriter's Showcase and now the monthly Creative Pulse event, pretty soon we'll all be taking over the entire downtown Fort Lauderdale area! LOL

Alas, after not sleeping well for a couple of nights in a row, I don't dare risk an 1.5 hour drive one-way. Plus, I have to work tomorrow. Maybe next month. At least I made it to Gallery 101!!!!

I like Kristos idea of having more opportunity to see what others are working on and how we can support that

First of all, I would like to say Charlotte and Grace (the sister with the dreads) did an awesome job at (Take 2) of the Creative Pulse experience. There was a good turn out, good people and a nice introduction of the mission statement about Creative Pulse by the organizers. As a Dj, I took a moment to listen to the crowd as a whole in reference to the music that was provide for the evening; let me say, the crowd voices did over power the music. In a good way, this meant that everyone was busy networking for a good cause, to keep Creativity alive. Last, I am not as good as Charlotte remembering at least 100 names in one night. Maybe nametags would be cool.

Wonderful to see this blossoming, there was a synergy there, a wonderful sense of being in the right place at the right time. We have created a network like this in the local environmental community, and what is more impressive is a group of artists seeing what they have in common rather than let egos spar them against each other for attention. Trash to Treasure Creative Reuse Center is DELIGHTED to be part of this!

The Performing Arts Center is a great venue. The lobby was perfect for mingling. The music was a bit loud making conversation somewhat difficult. I enjoyed the evening and plan to attend next month.

This was a very good networking meeting. I would love to see a little more interaction between the members and the organizers at a forum level. Artists can talk about their projects and seek collaboration from other artists and/or promoters. It would be nice to invite promoters to speak about their work and maybe offer promotional deals to worthy projects and/or artists at a low cost or profit sharing.

This is a group that is growing into a Cultural Organization and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.

Hi Charlotte, Thank you again for ALL the work you & Grace put into making this thing HAPPEN! It was a wonderful turnout and I look forward to next month!

It was an excellent opportunity for networking, I would like to see us all "cross promote" each other's events so that we can truly build the arts community and have us all support each other's efforts within the community.

I always have a great time getting around and talking to all my new friends, and making some new ones. Very happy that this group has taken off so well.

Great event! Comfortable venue! Easy access. Easy to mingle. We had a terrific time and met a lot of nice people! Thank you for such a great opportunity!

I liked that Grace introduced me to a couple of people because I came alone and didn't know anyone. I was glad to put my cards on a table and hope that later artists actually get to show some pieces as well as a musician getting a chance to play.

There was great energy in the room.
