Visit Bindlesticks in Tooting Market and have some lunch after.

In this day and age, its a good thing to help new startups and a great thing to grab a bargain.

This sweet little stall/shop/twee wine bar is owned and managed by my friend Corrie.

I thought it would be a lovely plan to spend an hour-ish here taking in the delights, soaking up the ambience and enjoying refreshments as well as browsing and buying.  Corrie has a licence and is able to serve wine and has a nice selection, but for those not wishing to drink alcohol, she also serves cofee and tea and a good selection of  herbal teas.

After this experience, we can go locally for some lunch if people wish.

Here is some more info on Bindlesticks, taken from the website:-

Books, trinkets from afar and not so far, big chunky jumpers, travel related guides, maps and travelogues of explorers who have endured epic journey's and lived to tell the tale; all of which can be enjoyed over a glass of wine from the smallest wine bar in London!

Take a goosy gander at the eclectic collection adorning every surface or just chill with a glass of wine and feel free to read any of the travel magazines or Sunday papers.  This is a cosy hub to enjoy in between a bit of shopping with plenty of artefacts and antique bargains coming in on a regular basis.

Some further info from Corrie, the owner, who is really excited about our visit:- "I'm happy to give a discount on wine - at the moment it's £3.50 for a small and £4.50 for a large. I can offer £3 for a small and £4 for a large! I know it's not a huge difference but I just can't go lower than that. All teas are £1 a mug and a pot is £2.50, (with free refills) which I think is already very reasonable! I will provide some biscuits for munching on for free though :0) And such is the nature of market life, haggling tends to be the way forward for any discount on goods!"

If you can't make this meetup time and date, please do visit Bindlesticks at your leisure. The current opening times are 10am til 6pm, Monday to Saturday and on some occasions the stall is open until late in the evening for special events. If you mention my name and South London Social you may even qualify for a discount on purchases.

Feel free to bring friends and if you have a Partner a great chance to perhaps snap up a Valentine's gift.
